Trying to walk by faith not by sight!

life and another birthday July 5, 2008

So, that’s what has been happening here.  Oh…the photo of the foot?  That’s Izzy foot after she stepped on a gooey marsh mellow that dropped in the dirt!  Hilarious!

Also, my sweet husband has been on vacation for two days now, and I’m going to be so spoiled when he has to return.  He makes me laugh like nobody else.

So, as you might have guessed from the photos, Isabella is the one with the birthday this month (we have a birthday in each month now until November!).   She turned two on July 1st!

Look how sweet she looks on her new bike!

A couple of things Izzy likes to say these days:

Side Mommy - outside

Too Mommy - me too

bayingsoup - bathing suit

copcom - popcorn

pull Angel - that means she wants to walk Savannah’s dog, Angel

Well, it’s after 10:00 now.  Getting close to my bedtime.  So, I think that’s all for now.

Happy Fourth!

Blessings!

Remember, Ella turned 5!

Isn’t she cute! Her new shirt from Namaw is so Ella.

Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Ella…

Okay, we celebrated Ella’s birthday here too, in the mountains.

This was absolutely Ella’s favortie gift, a bathing suit.  Her birthday was June 4th and she has found a way to wear that suit everyday since.  Seriously, we peel it off of her to wash it.  :)

A really quick update…still waiting on the homestudy…uurgh! And we paid for the expedited version.  I’m a little frustrated with that, but, what can I say? Except what I know, and that is, there is a lot of waiting in adoption :)

I wanted to ask for your prayers again…in the way of fundraising.  Specifically, for hands to help as we try to organize and carry through with the efforts to fundraise.  Also, the opportunity to speak for adoption and orphans as we carry out these fundraisers.  We are sooo grateful for the support we’ve received!  Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!!

 Blessings!

More later today…okay hopefully today :)

seems like it’s taking forever, but… June 21, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — petersonbunch @ 12:37 am

It seems like our adoption is taking forever, but Chris reminded (for the thousandth time) that we are getting there.  We are ready to send in our I600A as soon as the final changes are made on the homestudy and then we can get our dossier in.

It seems like it’s taking forever because I want to hold them.

I want to share the email I received this week about our girls.  We are also going to get new photos and video too!

Djoudnela is Mariah, Vanessa is Lillianna

Djoudnela is the “miracle child” here at the Orphanage. She has been recovering very well but it is a slow recovery. She eats all of the time but has lots to make up. She is very weak still but has her own personal  nurse at the orphanage  who stays with her round the clock and feeds her frequently. Nadia says she has come a long way and has been told by the Dr’s that she is doing very well.

She can sit and roll. She has not been strong enough to crawl again.

Her weight: 15 pounds

Her height: 29 inches

Vanessa is a sweet little girl. She  looks beautiful in pink and it appears to be her favorite color because she has had that color on for 3 days.  She has just gotten over a little cough but seems to be healthy aside from that. The whole Orphanage has had scabies and so she has been treated as well.

Vanessa can jump, loves to sing, and look cute. She like the pretty stickers I gave her and she loved the spinning tops.

Weight: 25 pounds

Height: 36.5 inches

a sigh of relief June 13, 2008

We found out today that our little fighter is out of the hospital!  They said she is “tiny, tiny, tiny.”  Oh, she was so tiny when she came to the orphanage, only 13 lbs at a year and a half.  They are hoping they can fatten her up soon.  They also have photos to get to us soon.  I pray and hope that she has had a comfort in seeing her older sister back at the orphanage.  Will you pray for the loss she must feel leaving the hospital without her other half.  Thank you for your many prayers for our girls.  Will you keep praying?  I’ve been praying that God would give her such a desire to eat and eat!  And that Lillianna would also be comforted for her loss and strengthened for her remaining sister.

Wow!  I just noticed a peace surrounding me.  Thank you Lord that you would save this precious girl!  That she would be a testimony of so much!  That you care about such a small thing as compared to what goes on in this world as to cover me with peace.

Blessings!

it’s been a while… June 12, 2008

Sorry, I’ve been missing in action!

I guess I’ve still been a little sad about Micah’s death…sigh.  So many friends have sent us cards and flowers and it has been the sweetest comfort!

A lot has happened in these couple of weeks though.

Our homestudy was finally completed (long story, I’ll tell you about it someday) and our agency has the final draft now and will let us know if any changes need to be made.  We were approved for only 2.  Originally, it was for three, but since the death of Micah, the homestudy agency felt it wise to bring home only 2.  Knowing what Mariah has been through with her health (still in the hospital :( ), they felt it would be wise to be prepared for her should she have ongoing health issues.  Okay, now I’m telling you part of the long story I said I would tell you later.  There’s more, but later.

After our agency makes their changes on the homestudy and it is finalized by the homestudy agency (confused yet?), we are prepared to send in our I600A.  We have 2 or maybe 3 final letters to add to our dossier which, I hope, we will receive this week.  My wonderful husband has done most of the work on the dossier.

Also, (this doesn’t have to do with the adoption) on June 4th, Ella Wren Peterson turned 5!

Finally, today, we will go for testing for one of our precious daughters.  It has been suspected that she may have Aspergers Syndrome, as well as Sensory processing issues.  We are not saddened by this.  She is the most wonderul child.  You fall in love with her about 2 seconds after you’ve met her!  We are only better equipping ourselves!  We would appreciate your prayers for wisdom!

Well, I told ya a lot has been happening.  I’m blessed to see it all in words really.  My God is faithful…He does have good works for us to do, just like he promises!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA!!  (I have more birthday photos to post, as soon as I download them)

Blessings!

He’s only three! May 29, 2008

Isn’t he something!

hope she’s still okay…our other twin May 29, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — petersonbunch @ 1:57 am

That’s what I’ve been thinking and feeling.  Throughout my day, I think of her and feel anxious.  Lord is she okay?  This feels so weird.  Between us and our children in Haiti, there is paperwork, fees, governments.  There is also, disease, starvation, malnutrition, sadness…lots of big things.  I can’t get to them fast enough.  She’s still in the hospital, with no mommy or daddy with her, Lord is this okay?  It’s so strange, this distance bound by all these things.  Lord, am I doing all I can to get to them?

Is she okay Lord?  Will she be alright?  Does she know about her sister, does she understand?  Is she sad?  Is she afraid?  Is she lonely?  Are you right there with her Lord?  Will you hold her tight?  Will you tell her about me, tell her I want to be her Mommy?  Tell her that I want to hold her, cradle her and rock her.  I want to cry over her for the loss of her sister.  I want to love her, I want to be there with her, with her sister!

Lord you are in control of all these things!  I lay them at your feet not knowing or understanding, but with hope…hope that we will see them soon, hope that we will bring them home soon.

So, have you heard? May 27, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — petersonbunch @ 11:20 am

I know many of you have already heard through prayers and praises already passed along, but we heard such sweet news on Friday!

Our other precious twin is still alive!  She is still in the hospital, however, she is gaining strength and they are hoping she is going to take a turn for the better!!

Praise God with us!!

I also think I will hear more news today through our agency…more photos and new additions:)  I’ll post as soon as I hear!

Thank you again for every single word of every single prayer you have uttered for our family and our haitian daughters!

Chris and I still ask your prayers over us to complete our dossier this week as well as financial provisions for the paperwork and foreign fees (goes to the orphanage).  The cost will be around $2500 to $3000.

Okay, I just have to say this before I go…Chris and I are so, so grateful to be called according to his purpose.  We are so full, from him, our Lord and Savior.

Blessings!
